Healthy Kids Club University- Healthy U will be held Saturday, January 23, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Winona Middle School, 1570 Homer Road. The event is free, but participants must register. Children ages 6 to 11 can sign up for two of the following activities:
Taste Buds - University of Minnesota Extension
See and taste snacks that are good for you. Healthy snacks taste good-you might just have to "hunt" to find them! Come to this workshop ready to sample, learn and have fun!
Habitat Bubble - U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Winona District
Too cold to be outside? Join Ranger Ed from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Winona District and create a healthy underwater river habitat inside the "Habitat Bubble." Draw, color and cut out all the things you need to construct your underwater home. Have fun while learning why a healthy diversity of wildlife is important to you and all other life on earth.
Dribble, Shoot and Score with the Winhawks- Winona Senior High School Boys' Basketball Team
Learn some basketball skills while being active with the Winona Senior High School Boys' Basketball Team. You'll be introduced to the basic skills of basketball to spark your interest and improve your performance. Please wear appropriate shoes when signing up for this workshop.
Get Movin! - Winona Family YMCA

Think Smart: Think about Your Heart - Winona Health
Get your heart pumping during this heart healthy obstacle course full of fun and challenges. You'll then find your pulse with fun finger monitors to see how hard your heart is working.
The event also includes two presentations for adults. Although the workshops are for children ages 6 to 11 only, the presentations for adults are open to the community.
Cyberbullying: What Parents and Educators Need to Know- Dr. Justin Patchin, Co Director, Cyberbullying Research Center and Associate Professor of Criminal Justice University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Keeping a Healthy Perspective on Parenting- Katy Smith, parent educator for Winona Area Public Schools, will discuss the keys to keeping a family healthy and happy.
